Terms & Conditions:
Only new applicants who pay registration fees for 2025 before 31 August 2024 are eligible.
Eligible students will automatically be entered into the competition but may refuse participation.
Registration fees are non-refundable.
The result will be announced on 13 September on the Cape Town Creative Academy website and Instagram.
The prize is an Apple iPad 10, 10.9” Wi-Fi 64GB
The prize must be collected in person.
The winner will be required to agree to have their name and photo published on the CTCA’s social media platforms.
Participants in the competition agree that the Cape Town Creative Academy (Pty) Ltd, its board and employees may not be held liable for hosting this bona fide event or the results thereof.
The result of the competition is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Drumroll, please! We’re thrilled to announce the WINNERS of our 2024 Young Creatives Competition!
With so much incredible talent, the decision wasn’t easy, but our judges have spoken.

The winner of our R100,000 bursary for 2025 is William Olive: @deepsouth_animations_

And a big congratulations to our runner-up, Timothy Hartman: @h_art_man, who has won a R50,000 bursary!

We can’t wait to welcome these talented creatives to the Cape Town Creative Academy in 2025.

HOW TO ENTER THE 2024 YOUNG CREATIVES INSTAGRAM COMPETITION + RULES, TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Register for the competition on Cape Town Creative Academy’s website https://creativeacademy.ac.za/young-creative-competition/
  2. Follow @capetowncreativeacademy on Instagram.
  3. Tag us (@capetowncreativeacademy) on each image that you upload.
  4. Tag your school.
  5. Tag 3 friends.
  6. In your caption, add #ctcayoungcreatives24 and the number and title of each artwork. Note that variations and details do not count as new artwork.

The artworks can be drawings, illustrations, paintings, photographs, product design, packaging design, corporate identity, 2D/3D/stop-motion animation projects, videos and digital designs, sculptural works, ceramic or textile projects. (You may enter your existing Grade 12 artworks.)

Kindly ensure that your account is set to ‘public’ for the duration of the competition.

RULES AND TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Only learners who are currently in Grade 12, or who were in Grade 12 in 2024 and are taking a gap year are allowed to enter this competition.
  2. Artworks must be uploaded by 31 July 2024 BEFORE 21:00. Artworks submitted after this deadline will not be accepted!
  3. All artworks submitted must be the entrant’s own original work.
  4. Plagiarised, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted.
  5. In order to be considered for a bursary, you have to enter 5 artworks (use Instagram carousel).
  6. Once your artworks have been submitted, you will not be able to modify them whatsoever.
  7. The Cape Town Creative Academy has the right to report any artworks that condone hate speech and propaganda of violence against race, creed, gender or sexual orientation.
  8. Your artworks might be published on the Cape Town Creative Academy’s website and / or social media platforms, and might also be shown during specific exhibitions.
  9. No royalties will be paid in the framework of this competition.
  10. All entries are subject to a selection process. Works are judged individually based on concept, use of material, quality of craftsmanship and skill demonstrated. Bursary prizes will be awarded to individuals that show exceptional artistic talent and creative potential.
  11. The bursary shortlist will be published on the Cape Town Creative Academy’s website on 8 AUGUST.
  12.  The bursary winners will be announced on the Cape Town Creative Academy’s website on 15 AUGUST.
  13. Bursaries may NOT be exchanged for cash, are not transferable and are only valid for the year 2025.
  14. It is at the sole discretion of the Cape Town Creative Academy to award study bursary prizes.
  15. The Cape Town Creative Academy’s decision on all matters pertaining to the competition is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  16. Your Instagram account must be set to ‘public’ for the duration of the competition.
