INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE ON LOCAL SOIL
Visit our campus in the Silo District at the V&A Waterfront
Creativity demands the right environment to flourish.
The new CTCA campus is situated at the heart of Cape Town’s most creative hub,
the reimagined Silo District at the V&A Waterfront. A mix of design, architecture and contemporary modern art with industrial history and heritage, the Silo district attracts millions of visitors, from all over the continent and world, every year.
The dynamic location underscores the artistic approach of the Cape Town Creative Academy. Surrounded by creative studios, talented contemporary artists, designers and product designers, students gain insight into the world of African art, culture, and the modern world.
Our central campus is on the 2nd floor of Silo 5, adjacent to the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA), and provides spacious studios with spectacular views of Table Mountain and the oldest working harbour in the country. Our students will rub shoulders with artists, designers, and international visitors in the trendy artistic environment of the Silo district.
The Contemporary Art programme is offered in Silo 2, on the other side of the Zeitz, with a communal space shared with the main campus. These open plan Contemporary Art studios are located on the ground floor of Silo 2 offering a stimulating learning environment in which students can create, meet and exchange ideas. A space geared for a superb education experience. It’s hard not to feel inspired.
We are privileged to provide our students world-class amenities to match our programme quality and a perfectly safe environment for creative growth.
Besides bustling workshops, specialist shops, cafes and markets and a vibrant nightlife, the V&A Waterfront plays host to exciting events all year round and students are exposed to festivals and events in music, drama and film, presented by local and international performers.
The CTCA campus is easily accessible and is located near shops, restaurants and banks, with MyCiti bus stops located conveniently in front of the building. In an environment of safety and security, students can develop their artistic talents, while enjoying a healthy balance between study and lifestyle.
The Silo District has a state-of-the-art fitness club with all the latest equipment, a pool, and dedicated cycle trails and running paths in the Waterfront precinct.
